September is Life Insurance Awareness Month. Hopefully you will either be aware that you have life insurance, need more life insurance, or maaaaaaybe need to get life insurance.

Thankfully it’s not Life Awareness Month because then there would be a lot of questions beginning with “do I have a life?” or more specifically: “Do I need to get a life?” I am not one to judge who should or shouldn’t get a life, but you might need to get one if your typical Saturday night is watching the clothes dry, counting belly button lint, or re-brushing the dogs (yes, as a matter-of-fact, they DO protest when you drag the brush out for the tenth time in one day). Now you know how I spent my Saturday nights… If you have already done your Christmas shopping, you might be in the “need a life” category – or maybe you could teach me not to shop on December 24th.

So, in September instead of wondering whether you have a life, or if you’re going to survive another holiday; how about making sure that your survivors have a life insurance policy?

But just don’t take my word for it – (but you should, anyway) just ask Buddy “The Cake Boss” – he has an interesting personal story on life insurance. And who wouldn’t listen to a guy who knows the difference between frosting and icing? Here’s the link to Buddy’s story:

Thinking about life insurance makes me think of the TV show Survivor – notice how they never have a toothbrush or hairbrush in their “must haves?” I would think that if I was competing with someone over a major prize like a million bucks (and tv appearances), I would be sure to have those essentials. Lord knows I would look like Davy Jones (the Pirate, not the Monkee) by the time the final challenge happened.
